About Robbie Boyd

Following the success of his debut album ‘So Called Man’, Robbie Boyd returns with his stunning second offering ‘Break The Chain’ – bursting with soulful, heartfelt songs that showcase Robbie at his best. Debut single ‘Whole Love’ is reassuringly honest and wholesome, encapsulating what the album is all about. Released next year, ‘Break The Chain’ is an exploration of love, self-discovery and relationships and is Robbie’s most raw and real collection of songs to date.

Robbie has performed live on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ twice, been regularly aired on BBC Radio 2 by the likes of Graham Norton, Paul O’Grady and Jeremy Vine, toured the world from America, Argentina, Europe, to Japan, and supported artists like Jack Garratt, Jack Savoretti, The Kooks, Mark Ronson, McFly and Daughter. He’s even had Suggs open up for him! Robbie’s co-written with the legendary Ray Davies, and written and recorded with some of Nashville’s finest. He’s also been aired on Xfm, BBC 6 Music and Absolute Radio. Robbie’s toured the UK several times with sold out headline London shows at venues like Bush Hall, The Garage and the Jazz Café. He’s performed at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, and was the first Brit to ever perform on the roof of the O2 Arena. Robbie and his band have played at the Isle of Wight Festival, Bestival, Somersault, Wilderness, Great Escape and Standon Calling to name a few.

‘Break The Chain’ draws on Robbie’s broad range of musical influences, and features 11 beautifully crafted songs, decorated with gorgeous melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, reminiscent of Cat Stevens, Van Morrison and The Beatles. The tight harmonies and instantly catchy tunes, demonstrate Robbie’s refreshingly bright outlook, combining his smooth vocals with his band’s powerful folk-driven groove. Once again Robbie delivers an eclectic mix of toe-tapping anthems, sensitive ballads, and his notorious sing-along refrains, all the while retaining his warmth and optimism, with a fresh sense of energy and playfulness thrown into the mix.

Robbie’s uplifting songs have captivated a worldwide audience and his success is a confirmation of the many hours he spent busking on the streets of London, Europe and America where he honed his craft, along with the hundreds of shows he’s played around the world, and the passion and purpose with which he works. Robbie’s talented band of like-minded minstrels, add to the festivities whenever they play live, filling each venue with good-time vibes. Their performances have been raved about in The Times, Telegraph, Evening Standard and Time Out, with online support coming from the likes of Huffington Post, Music Week and Rolling Stone
